Job Positions and Required Qualifications

Williamnagar Government College is currently seeking to fill several lecturer positions across a variety of subjects. Each position requires specific qualifications, which are outlined below:

1. Lecturer in Environmental Studies (VAC/VTC) – 4 Positions

• Qualifications: Applicants must hold an M.Sc. in Botany, Zoology, Environmental Science, or Forestry. Additionally, candidates must have qualified NET/SLET/SET or possess a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline. A minimum of 55% marks is required in the Master’s degree, though candidates belonging to ST/SC/OBC categories are eligible for a 5% relaxation. Having a certificate or diploma in food processing, beekeeping, organic farming, or carpentry is preferable.

2. Lecturer in English – 1 Position

• Qualifications: Applicants must have an M.A. in English, preferably with a focus on Linguistics. The candidate must also have cleared NET/SLET/SET or hold a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline. A minimum of 55% marks is required in the Master’s degree, with a 5% relaxation for ST/SC/OBC candidates. A diploma or certificate in communication skill development is desirable.

3. Lecturer in Garo – 1 Position

• Qualifications: Candidates must hold an M.A. in Garo. A diploma or certificate in communication skill development is desirable. The minimum qualification includes 50% marks in Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees for ST candidates, with the same grading system as mentioned earlier.

4. Lecturer in Economics – 1 Position (to teach MDC)

• Qualifications: An M.Com degree with NET/SLET/SET or a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline is required. Applicants must have at least 55% marks in their Master’s degree, with a 5% relaxation for ST/SC/OBC candidates.

5. Lecturer in Education – 1 Position

• Qualifications: The required qualification is an M.A. in Education, along with NET/SLET/SET or a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline. A minimum of 55% marks is required in the Master’s degree, with a 5% relaxation for ST/SC/OBC candidates.

6. Lecturer in History – 1 Position

• Qualifications: Candidates must have an M.A. in History or Archaeology. The candidate must have passed NET/SLET/SET or possess a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline. A minimum of 55% marks is required in the Master’s degree, with a 5% relaxation for ST/SC/OBC candidates.

7. Lecturer in Political Science – 1 Position

• Qualifications: The required qualification is an M.A. in Political Science, along with NET/SLET/SET or a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline. A minimum of 55% marks is required in the Master’s degree, with a 5% relaxation for ST/SC/OBC candidates.

8. Lecturer in Fashion Design – 1 Position

• Qualifications: Candidates must hold a Master’s degree from a recognized university with NET/SLET/SET or a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline. A Bachelor of Design or a diploma in Fashion Design, Tailoring & Embroidery, or Garment Making is also required. A minimum of 55% marks is required in the Master’s degree, with a 5% relaxation for ST/SC/OBC candidates.
