Mandatory Qualifications
Academic Qualification
- Graduate Degree with at least 50% aggregate marks from a University recognized by the Government of India, UGC, or AICTE.
- The Graduate Degree should be in any one of the subjects taught in the Middle or Primary classes of the Air Force School.
- Candidates holding a Graduate Degree in another subject are not eligible. However, if they hold a Master’s Degree in any subject taught in the School, they will be eligible.
Professional Qualification
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or an equivalent qualification from a college or university recognized by the Government of India, AICTE, UGC, or the National Council for Teacher Education.
Experience
- At least 2 years of teaching experience as a PGT, TGT, or PRT.
- Or at least 3 years of experience as an NTT.
- Or at least 2 years of experience as Principal or Headmistress of an Air Force School.
Age Limit
- Candidates should be 25 to 50 years of age as on 01 July of the academic year in which the post is being filled.
- There is no upper age limit for serving staff of Air Force Schools. However, they should have at least two years of residual service as on 01 July of the academic year.
- Women candidates and physically challenged candidates will receive age relaxation up to 5 years.
- Ex-servicemen with at least six months of continuous service in the Army, Navy, or Air Force may deduct the period of service from their actual age. If the resulting age does not exceed the maximum age limit by more than three years, they will be considered eligible. If selected, they will retire according to the Society rules.
- Candidates who have completed at least 2 years of continuous service as PGT/TGT or 3 years as PRT/NTT in any Air Force School but are not working there now will receive age relaxation equal to the service completed.
Language Requirement
- Should be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of computer applications, especially MS Office.
- Good knowledge of the POCSO Act, CBSE rules, and NCERT.
- Attended educational workshops.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in Hindi.

TGT Eligibility
Educational Qualification
Candidates should have a Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree from a University recognized by the Government of India, UGC, or AICTE with:
- Minimum 50% marks in the concerned subject.
- Minimum 50% marks in aggregate, including electives and languages.
Subject combinations are as follows:
- TGT Sanskrit: Sanskrit as an elective subject at Degree level.
- TGT Social Studies: Any two subjects from History, Geography, Economics, or Political Science, with one subject being either History or Geography.

Selection Process for Air Force School Upper Shillong Recruitment 2026

1. Written Test
