About Don Bosco College Higher Secondary Section, Tura
Don Bosco College Higher Secondary Section, Tura, is an educational institution of the Catholic Church. It belongs to the global Don Bosco Society and is managed by the Salesians of Don Bosco – North East India, headquartered in Guwahati, Assam.
The Higher Secondary Section was originally a part of Don Bosco College Tura, which was established in 1987. The main aim was to bring higher education within the reach of the people of Garo Hills. Later, in 2014, the management separated the Higher Secondary Section from the main college campus. This decision helped the institution focus more on providing quality education at the Plus Two level.
Today, the Higher Secondary Section has 37 teaching staff and provides education to more than 1,300 students. The institution continues to work hard every day to maintain high educational standards and create a better learning environment for students.
The college is named after St. John Bosco, popularly known as Don Bosco, the founder of the Salesians of Don Bosco. He was born into a poor family in 1815 near Turin, Italy. Through hard work, determination, and great sacrifice, he became a priest in 1841. His vision of providing education and care for young people continues to inspire schools and colleges across the world.
