Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Applicants must hold one of these qualifications:
- Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM)
- General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)
- Post-Basic Nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing)
They must also have valid registration with the Meghalaya Nursing Council.
Age Limit
Candidates must be below 35 years of age as on the date of the advertisement (27 October 2026).
Residency
Both male and female candidates can apply, provided they are residents of Meghalaya. Preference goes to candidates from the district and block where the vacancy is located.
Salary and Engagement Period
- Remuneration: ₹15,000 per month, fixed

- At the end of the engagement: A certificate of course completion and an experience certificate, as stated in the notification
Roles and Responsibilities
ECD Nurses will support maternal, infant and young child health services. Their work includes:
- Providing lactation support to mothers at healthcare institutions
- Training frontline workers such as ASHAs, AWWs and CGHAs
- Supporting Mother Skill Workshops
- Assisting with high-risk and escalation cases
- Mentoring frontline workers and cluster-level staff
- Supporting maternal mental health
- Giving hands-on support to cluster-level mentor teams
The engagement also offers practical experience in maternal and child nutrition, antenatal and postnatal care, anaemia prevention, infant feeding practices and inclusive early childhood development.
Selection Process
Selection will be based on diploma and graduation merit, subject to vacancies in the respective districts and blocks. Merit lists will be prepared separately for each qualification and district.
The 300 posts are divided by qualification as follows:
