Eligibility Criteria for CTET 2026 Exam

Before you fill out the application, you must check if you are eligible. There are two different papers. Paper 1 is for teaching lower classes, and Paper 2 is for higher classes.

Educational Qualification for Classes 1 to 5 (Paper 1)

  • You must pass Senior Secondary (Class 12) with at least 50% marks and pass or appear in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • OR You must pass Class 12 with at least 45% marks and pass or appear in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education according to NCTE rules.
  • OR You must pass Class 12 with at least 50% marks and pass or appear in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • OR You must pass Class 12 with at least 50% marks and pass or appear in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
  • OR You must have a Graduation degree and pass or appear in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

Educational Qualification for Classes 6 to 8 (Paper 2)

  • You must have a Graduation degree and pass or appear in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • OR You must have a Graduation degree with at least 50% marks and pass or appear in the final year of a Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
  • OR You must have a Graduation degree with at least 40% marks and pass or appear in the final year of a B.Ed according to NCTE rules.
  • OR You must pass Class 12 with at least 50% marks and pass or appear in the final year of a 4-year B.El.Ed.
  • OR You must pass Class 12 with at least 50% marks and pass or appear in the final year of a 4-year B.A.Ed / B.Sc.Ed.
  • OR You must have a Graduation degree with at least 50% marks and pass or appear in a 1-year B.Ed program.

CTET 2026 Application Fee

To finish your registration, you must pay the exam fee. The fee changes depending on your caste category and the number of papers you choose.

CTET 2026 Selection Process and Exam Pattern

We want to tell you clearly that passing this test does not mean you get a direct government job. This is only an eligibility test. After getting the certificate, you have to apply separately when schools release job vacancies. However, you need to score at least 60% marks in this exam to get the certificate.

CTET 2026 Complete Syllabus

After that, when you get a job in central schools, you will receive a very good monthly salary. The basic pay scale stays between Rs. 9300 to Rs. 34800. After adding allowances like HRA and TA, your total monthly in-hand salary will range from Rs. 35000 to Rs. 50000.

New Changes in CTET 2026 Questions

The board announced that the questions will now check your deep understanding. They want to test your problem-solving skills rather than just rote memory.
