Eligibility Criteria for CTET 2026 Exam
Before you fill out the application, you must check if you are eligible. There are two different papers. Paper 1 is for teaching lower classes, and Paper 2 is for higher classes.
Educational Qualification for Classes 1 to 5 (Paper 1)
- You must pass Senior Secondary (Class 12) with at least 50% marks and pass or appear in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- OR You must pass Class 12 with at least 45% marks and pass or appear in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education according to NCTE rules.
- OR You must pass Class 12 with at least 50% marks and pass or appear in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- OR You must pass Class 12 with at least 50% marks and pass or appear in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- OR You must have a Graduation degree and pass or appear in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
Educational Qualification for Classes 6 to 8 (Paper 2)
- You must have a Graduation degree and pass or appear in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- OR You must have a Graduation degree with at least 50% marks and pass or appear in the final year of a Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
- OR You must have a Graduation degree with at least 40% marks and pass or appear in the final year of a B.Ed according to NCTE rules.
- OR You must pass Class 12 with at least 50% marks and pass or appear in the final year of a 4-year B.El.Ed.

CTET 2026 Selection Process and Exam Pattern
We want to tell you clearly that passing this test does not mean you get a direct government job. This is only an eligibility test. After getting the certificate, you have to apply separately when schools release job vacancies. However, you need to score at least 60% marks in this exam to get the certificate.

New Changes in CTET 2026 Questions
