The recruitment drive is being conducted under Advertisement No. F.3/2024-SCA (RC), dated 17th August 2024. The selected candidates will be placed in Level 3 of the Pay Matrix, starting with a basic pay of Rs. 21,700/- per month. Along with the basic salary, the Junior Court Attendants will also receive various allowances, including House Rent Allowance (HRA), resulting in an approximate gross salary of Rs. 46,210/- per month. Eligibility Criteria for Supreme Court of India

1. Educational Qualification:

Note: Ex-servicemen who do not possess the full-time diploma in cooking or culinary arts are also eligible to apply, provided they have a trade/competency certificate in cooking/catering issued by a competent authority.

2. Experience:

• Candidates must have a minimum of three years of cooking experience in a prestigious hotel, restaurant, government department, or undertaking. This ensures that the candidates are well-versed in culinary practices and can uphold the standards expected by the Supreme Court.

3. Age Limit:

• The age requirement is between 18 to 27 years as of 01.08.2024.
• Usual relaxation in age will be applicable for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, physically challenged, ex-servicemen, widows, divorced women, judicially separated women (who are not remarried), and dependents of freedom fighters, as per the government rules.

4. Reservation Policy:

• Reservations for direct recruitment are available for SC, ST, Physically Challenged, and Ex-Servicemen as per the Government of India’s rules and regulations. Additionally, dependents of freedom fighters will also be considered under the reservation policy.

Selection Process

The selection process is designed to ensure that the most qualified and skilled candidates are chosen for the Junior Court Attendant positions. It consists of the following stages:

1. Written Test:

• The written test comprises two sections:
  • General Knowledge (Objective Type) – 30 Marks
  • Cooking/Culinary Arts (Objective Type) – 70 Marks
• Candidates need to score a minimum of 60% marks in each section to qualify for the next stage.

2. Practical Trade Skill Test:

• This test will assess the candidate’s cooking skills, including their knowledge of hygiene practices, and their ability to prepare and present dishes to a high standard. The test is valued at 70 marks.

3. Interview:

• The final stage is an interview, which carries 30 marks. The interview will evaluate the candidate’s suitability for the role, their experience, and their ability to meet the demands of the position.

Final Selection:

• The final selection will be based on the aggregate marks obtained in the written test, practical trade skill test, and interview. However, candidates should note that being on the final selection panel does not guarantee appointment; it simply qualifies them for consideration.

Examination Details and Centers

The written test will be conducted across 17 centers in 16 states to ensure that candidates from various regions can participate. The centers are located in Ahmedabad, Ambala, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Ernakulam, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, and Visakhapatnam. Candidates can choose their preferred test centers, but if a particular center does not have enough candidates, those registered there may be moved to their next preferred center.

Duties and Responsibilities

The role of a Junior Court Attendant (Cooking Knowing) is multifaceted and goes beyond just cooking. The responsibilities include:

1. Meal Preparation: Preparing and serving high-quality meals, snacks, and beverages for various occasions, including breakfast, tiffin, and high tea. This includes both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.
2. Kitchen Maintenance: Ensuring the kitchen is kept clean, organized, and hygienic at all times. This includes general maintenance and cleanliness of all cooking utensils, crockery, and cutlery.
3. Food Storage: Proper and hygienic storage of food and other items to prevent spoilage and waste.
4. Inventory Management: Maintaining a stock inventory and ensuring that all food supplies are accounted for.
5. Dining Area Maintenance: Keeping the dining area clean and organized, including dusting tables and chairs.
6. Safety and Hygiene: Observing personal hygiene, maintaining good physical health, and using clean clothing while performing duties. Additionally, safety precautions must be taken to prevent fire hazards and injuries.
7. Flexibility: Working odd hours, including Sundays and holidays, as required, and being willing to work at any location as specified from time to time.
8. Additional Duties: Performing other related duties as may be assigned from time to time, including general duties outside of the kitchen.

Application Process for Supreme Court of India

1. Registration and Submission:

• Eligible candidates are required to apply online through the Supreme Court’s official website (www.sci.gov.in). The online registration process will start on 23rd August 2024, and the last date for submitting applications is 12th September 2024 at 24:00 hrs.

2. Application Fee:

• The application fee is Rs. 400/- for General and OBC candidates. However, a reduced fee of Rs. 200/- applies to SC/ST/Physically Challenged/Ex-Servicemen/Dependents of Freedom Fighters/Widows/Divorced Women/Judicially Separated Women (not remarried).

3. Document Submission:

• Candidates must upload a scanned copy of their photograph and signature while filling out the online application. All details in the application form must be filled out correctly, as once submitted, no modifications can be made.

4. Admit Card:

• After successfully submitting the application, candidates should retain their application number for future reference. The admit card for the tests will be available for download from the Supreme Court’s official website. No admit cards will be sent by post.

General Instructions

1. Eligibility Verification: Candidates must ensure that they meet all eligibility criteria before applying. Admission to the examination stages (Written Test, Practical Trade Skill Test, and Interview) is provisional and subject to verification of eligibility through documentary proof.
2. Multiple Applications: If a candidate submits multiple applications, only the last one submitted will be considered. Candidates should also note that the application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
3. Category Changes: No requests for category changes will be entertained after the submission of the application.
4. Exam Concessions: Physically challenged candidates will receive the same concessions as allowed by SSC/UPSC in similar examinations.
5. TA/DA: No Travel Allowance (TA) or Daily Allowance (DA) will be provided for attending the tests or interviews.
